This was the biggest and longest project I have ever worked on.

It took us 2 whole years of editing while new material was constantly arriving. We were seeing the world through the eyes of someone inside the war, day and night, during the first 2 years of the conflict in Ukraine after the Russian invasion. We watched the day to day of ordinary people, civilians who became soldiers, and how their perspective on life changes. This was especially powerful through the eyes of an artist like Artem. Even in the most terrifying moments of combat or escaping from bombings, he never lost his attention to the camera. Something of this sensitive artist was always still there.

At the same time, we were digging into his family archive. We had to find the sensitivity to tell and show how this population is marked by war, generation after generation. And yet they have so much in common with anyone we might know. It was such a deep and touching experience. Working with these two directors and giving shape to this story is something that has definitely marked my work forever.
