About

Hi, we are Inés and Fran, two documentary editors, who first met fresh out of college in Buenos Aires, then crossed paths again in Barcelona 15 years later, and decided to team up.

For us, the edit is like a birth—an intense, transformative process that deserves care, patience, and the right support. Just like a doula helps bring new life into the world, we’re here to guide directors through the editing journey, offering steady hands and a calm presence.

With 15 years of experience, we’ve worked on films that have gone on to be recognized at institutions like Sundance, the Emmys and the BAFTAs.

With two editors at the core of Edit Doula, we always have each other’s backs—filling schedule gaps, collaborating on projects when needed, and keeping fresh eyes on each other’s work. This means we’re always available for feedback and support, ensuring that no project ever gets stuck or stalls.

What drives us most are films that hold power to account—stories that challenge, inform, and inspire change. If you're making a documentary with a social justice focus, we’d love to help bring it into the world.

From Development
to Final Print

At Edit Doula, we believe that a strong edit starts long before post-production.
That’s why we love getting involved as early as possible—during development.
Whether it’s cutting a teaser to help secure funding or collaborating
with directors on early script drafts, we’re here to shape the story from the ground up.

On the other end of the journey, we see post-production as an extension of the editorial process, not just a technical afterthought. A film’s final shape isn’t just found in the edit—it’s crafted through sound, color, and finishing touches that bring the story to life.

Every film is a labor of love, and we’re here to make sure it arrives in the world with clarity, purpose, and impact.

Contact

Barcelona based, working worldwide. We’re well-versed in remote workflows, making distance a non-issue. Whether fully remote, hybrid, or on-site, we adapt to what works best for the production. With the right scheduling, we use different time zones to keep projects ahead of the clock instead of racing against it.

We’ve built a trusted global network of collaborators—AEs, post supervisors, archive researchers, you name it. No matter where your project is based, we can help bring together the right team to keep the workflow smooth and stress-free.

We’d love to hear about your project :)
